What Affects House Painting Costs?
The cost of painting your home depends on several key factors. Larger homes or those with multiple stories require more time, labor, and materials. The type and quality of paint matter too—premium brands and specialty finishes add to the price but offer longer-lasting results. Prep work such as sanding, priming, or repairs also increases costs, especially on damaged or uneven surfaces. Hard-to-reach areas and obstructions like landscaping can make the job more complex. Changing to bold or dark colors may require extra coats or primer, and detailed work like trim, doors, or textured finishes adds precision time.
